Pricing Model: Images vs Transformations vs Bandwidth
Icefiery's pricing is based on three simple metrics that reflect actual usage, not confusing credit systems.
Images: Peak Storage
Images are counted as peak storage during the month - the highest number of images stored at any point.
- All uploads count, including temporary uploads before they expire
- Deleted images reduce your count immediately
- Example: Upload 100 images, delete 50, upload 75 more = 125 peak images
This reflects actual storage usage during the billing period.
Transformations: Unique Variants
Transformations are counted as unique transformations per month - different combinations of size, format, and quality parameters.
- Cached transformations don't count against your limit after the first request of the month
- Same transformation requested multiple times in a month = 1 transformation
- Example:
image.jpg?width=200
+image.jpg?width=300
= 2 transformations
This encourages efficient caching and rewards consistent image sizes across your application.
Bandwidth: CDN Delivery
Bandwidth measures total CDN delivery per month - the amount of data served to your users.
- All image requests count toward bandwidth
- Global CDN delivery included at all tiers
- Scales proportionally with your image storage
Bandwidth grows naturally with your user base and image library size.
